ABOUT

I'm Tim and I've been a church IT Director for 10 years. In the past couple years, my focus has largely become security. How do we best protect our attenders from the increasing threats of violence in public spaces?

We've added cameras, sophisticated door locks, and other mitigations but how can our database contribute to a safer church?

On Sundays, when things are moving fast, nobody is watching the forms that come in for threats of violence. On weekdays, sometimes it takes time for staff to look at the many form responses that we receive.

With the success of my other app, Clean My PCO, I learned a lot about how to communicate with PCO in new ways so I modified Clean My PCO and built Protect My Church.

HOW DO WE IDENTIFY THREATS?

It's not feasible for us to manually review every form so automation was the obvious choice. Here's how we did it:

Our Own Conditions

I talked to Universities and organizations that study mass causality events. They pointed me to some datasets that we use to evaluate form responses.

Artificial Intelligence

All form responses are sent to a large language model that evaluates the response and gives it a score. If that score is high enough, we alert you.
